082312 - ALDO RANT!!

Happy Birthday to me, huh? 16 years ago, I was born and 16 years later, I wrote a blog post about it. I had a pretty great day today, I spent time with my sister and mom, and I got a new pair of shoes! They're studded loafer-style flats from Aldo, I've been eyeing for a while now from the website. This is my first pair of Aldo shoes.

You see how these shoes' style is called the "CORINETTE" style, right? The style of the shoe is like this (pictures taken from ALDO website):
The name of the shoes are under their picture. So the shoes that I got are the same style as the shoes I just showed above, as the BLYE and the tan/silver CORINETTE shoes. What I wanted was the shoes that were from the picture on the website of the black CORINETTE style shoes, which were these:
(link to these HERE)
If you just glance from one picture to the other, you can tell that the picture of the black CORINETTE style shoes has a longer lip than the other colors/the BLYE style. I wasn't sure why the black CORINETTE style shoe on the website has a different picture than the other colors, but I did like the longer-lipped style much better (although I didn't end up getting it).

I know for sure that the shoes I purchased were the style with the shorter lip, because after I got home, I began comparing the shoes I got to the shoes I saw online. The woman at ALDO began getting really frustrated with me when I began arguing that the shoes on the website were not the same, and told me that the shoes I ended up purchasing and the shoes on the website were the "exact same".

(My shoes are the same style as these tan-colored ones)
So I color-coded the differences I painted on the picture to make them easier to point out:
RED- On the side of the shoes, where the lip meets the side, the CORINETTE style has 7 studs while the longer-lipped style has 10.
YELLOW - On the part of the lip with the most studs, the CORINETTE style has 7 studs, while the longer-lipped style has 10 (thus making the lip longer)
GREEN - There is one stud on the lip from the indent (?) on the CORINETTE style shoe, while there is 3 on the longer-lipped style.
BLUE - I can't be sure, but the length of the lip from the indent just looks longer on the style on the right.

So my main point is, I really wanted the longer-lipped style on the black CORINETTE shoe I saw online, but the shoe itself isn't the same shoe as the picture, so the website is either misleading or has a mistake that needs to be fixed.
I still have these, but I wish the picture didn't make me look forward to getting the other shoe.

Today, I had a small birthday celebration with a few (five, specifically) of my bestest friends! ;v; It was really fun, we spent the day in downtown Seattle and went shopping everywhere, including Westlake Center, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Forever 21, H&M, and others. I got a royal blue chiffon top at Urban Outfitters (that I didn't picture) on sale for 10 dollars ;v; and we ate at a cute random Bolivian restaurant by Pike Place market (it wasn't very good tbh.) Here's a few pictures from our trip:

Ashley being upset because the fortune-telling ball-on-a-stick said that there wouldn't be any cute boys at school this year LOL

Me and Christy being cute at Forever 21 wearing ridiculous sunglasses (and Christy wearing 2 pairs LOL)

Christy getting trapped in the suitcase prop at Forever 21.. yeah..

Us being cute at the restaurant. Can you spot the white person?

So my friends really are the bestest friends you could ever have tbh. This is a picture of me bragging about them, and just a rough idea of what's to come.

Here are the cards that my friends gave me ;v; my best friend Ashley made me the eyeball card, and crazy filled it with memories and stupid jokes we have. and Angie's a jerk because she printed a picture of L.joe being gross. Same goes for Vicky because she's Vicky but anyway, THE CARDS.

One of the friends that knows me best got me two books (that I don't own yet!) by my favorite author, Haruki Murakami. I'm so glad that she got me these, because I've been wanting to read them for a while now and I don't really go to the library anymore because I just like to buy my Murakami books and keep them forever orz

My friend Christy (the ridiculous one HAHA) got me these two really pretty necklaces! The one on the left has a pink bow with rhinestones and the one on the right has multiple chains + bead embellishments. Both are from Forever 21.

My best friend from school, Ashley, decided to go all out on her birthday present for me (I got her a pretty great gift for her birthday too!) I guess I'll try to go left to right. On the very left is a really pretty feather necklace from American Eagle with a few cute charms on it and (what I believe to be) a real feather? I'm not sure. Next to that is a skull bracelet. Honestly, she knows me too well. I didn't tell anyone but my sister that I wanted one.. and got two different ones.. but I really like the one that she gave me. It's a different style and color. Next to that is a cute skeleton thing.. (I'm not sure?) that I hung on my wall. Under is a box with a pair of fake plug earrings that I wanted and a iphone jack to put cell phone charms in. The big eyeball is a small plushie that she hand-sewed for me because she knows I like eyeballs ;v; it's so cute~ The pink ones is an eyeball bow necklace and a cellphone charm with a cake that has an eyeball bow (I put it on my phone with the jack!) and finally, is the bag of Ube bread that she bought for me because she knows I love the stuff. I didn't take a picture, but she took a white gift bag and decorated every square inch of the bag and also baked me fresh cookies. Props to anyone who actually read every word of this.

My friend Christine (who luckily, I got to see twice this summer already!) got me this really cute bag. It has small handles and a long strap, and the bow is meant to be asymmetrical. It's probably one of my favorite bags now, I wore it today (it's 081912 as of today.) I was kind of in shock when she gave it to me because I didn't expect anyone to get me a purse and let alone one this cute.
(here's a picture of me sporting the purse):

Lastly, my close friend Victoria (whom I probably have the most messed up friendship in the world with) bought me a LUSH gift card!! I was so happy when I saw it because I literally adore that shop. Like, I would buy it if I could. And I'm not going to post a picture of the inside of the birthday card because she's ridiculous and stupid.

I'm pretty sure no one actually read every single word of this post, but you get the gist, really. I had a really fun birthday with my best friends who love me ;v;

Wow I just realized that so far I've only posted shopping hauls LOL. Today my sister took me to southcenter and we both spent waay too much money.

The first thing I bought was from Gilly Hicks. I'm just gonna say this first, the fitting rooms there are like SO nice. Like, I'm pretty sure they're nicer than my bedroom. I got this top there, ad it's so cute. The picture is pretty bad, and the top is actually navy, but whatever. It's really cute.
Top - $12.95 (on sale)

After this, I bought these skull bracelets at Love Culture. I really liked a lot of stuff there today, but everything seemed more overpriced than usual :( but luckily, I found these. I've had my eye on this bracelet for a while and almost bought it, but I decided to be patient and I found mine (even though they're a little pricier).
Skull bracelets - $2.99 each

I've been looking for a new cute sponge because my loofah was getting kind of old, so I took a trip to Daiso. I couldn't find a cute sponge for my body, but there were so many cute kitchen sponges ;__; so I just bought a kitchen sponge. I mean, it looks soft enough and it was a good size, so I bought it. And I just used it and it actually feels really good on my body, it's really soft.
Pig (kitchen) sponge - $1.50

My favorite, my sister bought me LUSH products for my birthday! Gotta love sisters. I got the Imperialis moisturizer, Grease Lightning, and the Cosmetic Warrior mask (forgot to put it in the picture because it goes in the fridge). I also got a sample of the Chou Chou toothy tablet and the Gorgeous moisturizer (the guy at that shop gave me a shit ton of it, he filled up the whole sample tub!!) I'll be doing reviews of them sometime soon.
Grease Lightning - $12.95

And lastly, I finally found a letterman jacket! I've been looking for one to wear this fall, and I got this one at Etiquette. I really like the pinkish-red color and the fact that it has a hood ;v;
Letterman jacket - $15.99

Today was pretty eventful I guess, I got my permit! and some other things.

So when I went to get my permit, my mom and I drove to the DOL building a total of five times. FIVE TIMES. The first time was to get the booklet to study from, the other times were just due to mistakes I made.. orz
But either way, I have my permit now, whooo!

Later, my mom and I went to a small mall. I got another Murakami book to add to my collection, one of my favorites, After Dark!
After Dark by Haruki Murakami - $6.95
My collection now has eight! (I let a friend borrow Sputnik Sweetheart)

I also got some big round sunglasses, black lipstick, and purple hairspray at Party City. The stupid worker charged me a dollar for the lipstick when it was 50c, so i complained to the manager to get my money back LOL and the hairspray and lipstick suck really bad.
Big round sunglasses - $0.99
Purple hairspray - $2.99
Black lipstick - $0.50

Lastly, (my favorite) my best friend Ashley knows that I have a weird obsession with eyeballs. Like, they're really cute. So I had to get these when I stepped into Michaels. I think I'll use them to decorate my binder once I buy one, and maybe some other school supplies.

081112

wooo first blog post!
I'm not sure how much I'm going to use this, but I guess I'll just try this out and see.

So today started out terribly. I had to make up my SAT class in Seattle instead of my usual class, and it was so bad. The English teacher was really strict and boring, not like my usual teacher. My usual teacher, Mike, has a lot of personality and is willing to help, but this lady was seriously the worst part of my summer yet, and she was in dire need of a bra (sob). And there were a bunch of other awkward people in the class, and the room was really really hot.

But anyway, I went shopping with my mom at Bellevue Square, and it was pretty fun. I got this mint chiffon top at Forever 21, but one thing that really peeved me today was that the workers today were so rude. I was just trying to shop, and then suddenly this guy comes up to me and sticks a bag in my hand, then asks me if I wanted to have a bag when I shop. Well, SURE since it's already in my hand. So using this bag was really inconvenient because I had a purse too, and then idno, I just like not having a bag. But anyway, I go to the dressing room and wait there for literally like two minutes hoping to get a room, and then once the lady comes up to me after my long wait, she tells me to take everything out of the bag. OH MY GOD. I stood there for like another 30 seconds pulling everything out of my bag while she stares at me, then she gave me a room. And later when I bought the shirt, it was that guy who shoved the bag in my face. Talk about annoying.
Mint chiffon top - $13.50
(just realized this is a horrible pic sorry)

Okay so after this, I decided to go over to LUSH because I've heard so much great stuff about this place from Blythe and Jasmineblu, and I think this place is heaven. Not only are all of their products amazing, the workers were really friendly and I really liked them. The second I walked in, a girl asked me how my day was, then offered me a nice arm massage (which I obviously accepted.) The arm massage was really nice, she first had me wash my hands using the Turkish Delight soap mixed with the Ocean Salt scrub, and this made my hands feel really soft and clean. After this, she rubbed my hands with the CoCo Lotion, and it kind of made my hands a little greasy, but when they dried later, they felt really soft. Then she led me to the Dark Angels cleanser (the reason I came inside) and told me about how it works and how to use it and stuff, which led me to getting $10 of the stuff. Another girl showed me the Tea Tree Water and even misted it on herself and my face, and I'm pretty sure it was the best stuff ever.  The way that it works is that you mist it on your face whenever you feel oily (and if you want, morning and evening) and the Tea Tree Water seeps into your face and absorbs all of the oils. I ended up buying the travel size one to see how I like the product daily, but I'm pretty sure I'll buy the bigger size when it runs out.
Dark Angels Cleanser - $10.36
Tea Tree Water - $8.95
I think I'll be doing some reviews of these later on.

This is a really random and small thing, but I got a sample of this Dr. Jart Black Label Detox BB cream. I asked my sister to buy me the Dr. Jart Water Fuse one already, but the lady at Sephora told me that it makes your face oily over the day (but I have my Tea Tree Water!) and that the Black Label Detox is better... whoops.
I'll try to compare this to the Water Fuse BB cream later on.

Lastly, I finally found a pair of skeleton tights! I've literally been looking for a pair for a few months now, and I got these at the Halloween section at Fireworks. There were other pairs too, a pair with a cobweb, one with skulls down the side, and a pair with bats flying all over it. They were pretty cute, but they were pretty Halloween-y but the skeleton ones you can wear more often.. I guess.
Skeleton tights - $12.50
Just throwing this in, here was my outfit of the day:
Black chiffon top - Etiquette
Romper - Gilly Hicks

So.. yeah. That was my day. Well, I guess I'll post more hauls/reviews/ootd's/whatever in the future. Until then, bye!
